I asked a few students what their highlight of camp was. Have a listen to their responses in our latest podcast. Feel free to add a comment about your own personal highlight below! :)

Camp Highlights podcast: Camp Highlights

Each week in 5KA, we have a ‘Star of the Week’. The ‘Star of the Week’ does many classroom jobs for us, and they also get many perks, such as sitting on the couch instead of the floor, having Wally (our class mascot) at their table, and giving a ’show and tell’ presentation to the class at our class meeting. Most students bring along a bag containing seven items that represent different aspects of their life. We record these presentations into audio files and broadcast them to the world as ‘podcasts’. Click on the links below to listen to all the ‘Star of the Week’ podcasts we have made so far…

You can subscribe to our podcasts and have them automatically delivered to your computer or portable device!

Some photos from our recent camp to Borambola Sport and Recreation Centre are now online! Check them out at our Year 5 Wiki.

Podcasts are audio files that are published on the web. You can subscribe to a particular podcast and have the audio files automatically delivered to your computer whenever there are updates. These can then be transferred to a portable MP3 player. You typically subscribe to podcasts using “podcatchers”, such as Internet Exporer 7, My Yahoo or iTunes. To subscribe to our Year 5 podcasts, simply click here. Then, choose the ‘podcatcher’ you would like to use.

The topic we are learning about at the moment is Australian History. Today, Rosey Schultz came to talk to us about Aboriginal culture. She showed us some amazing Aboriginal artifacts. I wonder if any 5KA students can remember some of the things we were shown, and what they are used for…?
